Questions and answers

Spelling practice, explained.

Choose a question to learn more about levels, modes, free sessions, Premium, and effective review.

Which level should I choose?

Start with the grade range that feels familiar. If most words are easy, move up a level; if a session feels frustrating, step down and build confidence first. The level descriptions and sample words make it easy to compare.

What is the difference between Spelling Practice and Flash Cards?

Spelling Practice asks you to hear a word and type the complete spelling. Flash Cards show the word and let you review its pronunciation, definition, and example at your own pace.

Do I need an account to practice?

No. You can choose either mode, select a level, and begin your free sessions without creating an account or entering payment information.

How do the three free sessions work?

A session counts only when the word activity actually begins. Browsing the homepage, comparing levels, or reviewing words you missed does not use another free session.

What does Premium include?

Premium removes the practice-session limit and includes ongoing Smart Review, saved custom spelling lists, progress history, printable practice lists, and up to three learner profiles under one parent account.

Can I practice the words I miss?

Yes. At the end of Spelling Practice, choose “Practice missed words” for a focused review. That review does not count as a new session.

Why study spelling when devices have spell-check?

Spelling practice strengthens sound-letter connections, vocabulary, reading fluency, and confidence. Spell-check can correct a word, but learning its patterns makes it easier to recognize, remember, and use.
